Dr.Clinton Baldwin

Clinton Baldwin holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan with special emphasis in New Testament Textual Criticism since 2007. Between 2008 and August 2014, Clinton worked as an Associate Professor in the School of Religion and Theology at Northern Caribbean University (NCU), Jamaica, where he also served as Founding Director of the Biblical Manuscript Research Centre (BMRC). In addition to teaching at NCU, Dr. Baldwin also taught for the Inter-America Division Seminary (Puerto Rico) and Oakwood University (Huntsville, Alabama). While at NCU, he also hosted a weekly radio program entitled, Bible Beyond the Basics.

Dr. Baldwin has written five (5) books, namely, The Journey of the New Testament in Becoming a Book and the Relevance of New Testament Textual Criticism (2013); The So-Called Mixed Text: An Examination of the Non Alexandrian and Non Byzantine Text-type in the Catholic Epistles (2011); The Sabbath, More than a Day, A Person (2012); Methods of Biblical Interpretation: A New Perspective on Prophecy (2012) and Justification by Faith: More than a Concept a Person (2002). Dr. Baldwin is an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and has served over 30 churches as District Pastor in Jamaica and the U.S.A combined.

Currently, he works as President of the Baldwin’s Biblical Manuscript Research Institute (BBMRI), a scholarly organization designed to engage in collaborative research in the manuscript history of the Biblical text. The BBMRI also makes simple and accessible to the non-specialists the scientific complexities of the manuscript history of the Greek and Hebrew Scriptures. In addition, this organization also ventilates scholarly issues, methodologies and research in Biblical Studies. His wife Andrea (MBA, Ph.D.) serves as the Chair of the Business and Communication Department at Washington Adventist University, Maryland. They have a son, Mendel.
